Job Title: Contributions Compliance Auditor
Grade: PS-1
Purpose:
This position is responsible for performing contribution compliance audits on employers who participate in the SEIU National Industry Pension Fund (“NIPF”) and the SEIU Health and Welfare Fund (“H&W”). The Benefits Funds administer multiple benefit funds in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:

• Conducts contribution compliance audits of employers who participate in the NIPF and H&Was directed by management.
• Assists with contribution compliance audits of employers who participate in the SEIU Affiliates Officers and Employees Pension Fund as directed by management.
• Prepares billings, legal referral documents, and other pertinent correspondence related to the contribution compliance audits.
• Consult, research, and resolve issues as related to contribution compliance.
• Maintains electronic and paper files containing work papers, supporting documentation and correspondence related to contribution compliance audits.
• Collaborates with, and supplies contribution compliance information to, other departments within the SEIU Benefit Funds to assure that participants receive their proper pension credit.
• Collaborates with other staff within the Contributions Compliance Department to resolve outstanding contribution compliance issues.
• Works with SEIU staff, participating employers, and other parties as related to contribution compliance issues.
• Prepares reports for the trustee meetings.
• Assists Executive Director, Deputy Director, Contribution Compliance Manger and Assistance Contribution Compliance Manger-Payroll Review with special projects as assigned.
• Performs other duties as required to support the mission of the department and the SEIU Benefit Funds.
Direction and Decision Making:
This position reports to the Assistant Contributions Compliance Manager - Payroll Review.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with course work in accounting and two (2) years experience in an accounting or financial environment.
Equivalency:
Associates degree with course work in accounting and six (6) years of work experience in an accounting or financial environment.
Or, a combination of education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply plan language as related to contribution compliance.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply ERISA, DOL and IRS Regulations as related to contribution compliance.
• Knowledge of computer-based accounting and payroll systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems independently.
• Ability to create and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Ability to perform detailed calculations with accuracy in an efficient manner.
• Ability to perform data entry functions.
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in demanding environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations in calm respectful manner.
• Ability to multitask using oral, visual and tactile senses.
• Ability to think critically and produce sound, logical conclusions.
• Ability to handle multiple projects, meet established deadlines and adapt to an ever changing environment for the purpose of accomplishing results.
• Ability to organize work/tasks to provide for systematic and efficient processes.
• Ability to produce work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach toward assignments while actively participating and supporting a team environment.
• Proficient in the use of personal computers using accounting, database, and spreadsheet software or other SEIU Benefit Funds software, including Microsoft Office Suite, in the performance of record keeping and financial analysis.
Probationary Period:
Thirty six (36) calendar weeks.
Required Tests:
Excel (Intermediate); Word (Intermediate)
Physical Requirements:
Work is generally performed in an office setting. Long/extended hours and travel required.
