Stand for Security Campaign

As part of the national Stand for Security campaign, thousands of low-wage security officers have united in SEIU to win improved wages, benefits and respect on the job. SEIU USWW in California has been on the cutting edge of building power of low-wage workers in service sector industries and fighting in the larger struggles for social justice issues such as health care, immigration reform and economic equality. We are now hiring an Organizing Coordinator covering southern California to work on several exciting campaigns to organize thousands of new Security Officers in California.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively lead a team of organizers and researchers in planning and implementing organizing campaigns strategies
Recruit, assess and development of staff
Guide strategic planning process of the campaign for southern California
Develop and conduct trainings for members and staff
Maintain accurate and detailed information on the campaign regional areas
Ability to drive campaign components such as politics – move political program connected to campaign, client sectors, communications, research, legal, integration of internal into external campaigns, building community and labor relationships
