Lead Organizer

DESCRIPTION:

Lead Organizer needed for comprehensive campaign aimed at organizing targeted immigrant workers in California’s Central Valley.  The Central Valley extends from Bakersfield to Redding, CA and is populated by a largely Mexican American workforce that too often lack union representation at work and political power in their communities.

The Lead Organizer will oversee the day to day operations of the campaign.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To receive serious consideration, the candidate must meet the following criteria:

• Fluent in Spanish and English
• Extensive union ground organizing experience
• A proven record of union recognition and/or election wins
• Experience as a lead organizer
• Experience working with multi layered campaigns that include political, community and other components
• Strong commitment to the labor movement and fighting for immigrant worker justice
