Doctors Council SEIU is the nation’s oldest and largest union for physicians and dentists. Doctors Council is affiliated with SEIU. We represent the doctors who work in public and private facilities. Doctors Council SEIU’s long and rich history of advocating for union doctors was added to in recent years with organizing victories that led to many new first contracts. With the successful conclusion of these contracts, we are now a union that is approximately half public sector and half private sector. Our increased membership gives us greater strength to work together for our goals. Doctors Council SEIU is also affiliated with the National Doctors Alliance (NDA), SEIU, whereby we represent doctors throughout the United States.

POSITION AVAILABLE:
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT:
You will be proactive in providing administrative support to staff, with the ability to identify and anticipate needs and where self direction is expected in an environment that is fast paced and deadline driven.
• Must be extremely well organized with high attention to detail and work well in a collaborative team-based environment
• Be able to multitask, problem solve and manage multiple priorities
• Experience in bookkeeping
• Experience coordinating staff travel arrangements, union membership meetings, special events and managing agendas and materials for meetings
• Strong internet research skills with knowledge of various social media and digital platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Tumblr
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite to accomplish the following duties:
1. Understanding of Access database structure to run reports and queries for lists and reports based on specific criteria
2. Input, search and maintain member information in Access database (DB)
3. Import/ maintain emails in Outlook and create distribution lists
4. Utilization of mail merge to create form letters, labels, envelopes, etc
5. Ability to create\ format Excel spreadsheets with complex calculations utilizing features such as
conditional formatting, pivot table, scenarios, text to column, etc
6. Proficient in creating\ editing PowerPoint presentations
• Experience with Quicken or other accounting software a plus
• Ability to maintain website
• Responsibilities include office support such as but not limited to answering phones, copying, faxes, sorting mail, assisting in mailings and other duties as assigned
• Be able to keep track of and order supplies
Experience: At least two (2) years experience, preferably working with unions.
You must be a self-starter with the ability to work with supervision. Normal hours are Monday to Friday 9:00
AM to 6:00 PM with occasional night time and weekend work.
Salary and benefits: Salary depends on experience. Excellent full benefit package includes 100% employer paid self and dependent medical and dental, as well as 100% employer paid defined benefit pension plan.
