Lead Organizer – Milwaukee

Job Title: Community Lead Organizer
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Position Summary:
Wisconsin Jobs Now is hiring a Community Lead Organizer to be based out of the Milwaukee office. This position will be responsible for running the organizing and canvassing operation for Milwaukee and surrounding areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage and motivate the Wisconsin Jobs Now field organizing office;
• Recruit and train campaign and community activists and leaders;
• Foster collaborative and strategic relationships with community, labor and organizational allies;
• Conduct multiple leadership and activist trainings;
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and other lead staff to develop strategy, organize public events/actions and communicate the campaign message;
Primary Qualifications:
• Three to five years experience in community, labor, or grassroots electoral organizing;
• Demonstrated experience in recruiting, motivating, and training staff, activists and volunteers;
• Experience in grassroots organizing, including direct contact through door-to-door canvassing, organizing and phone banking;
• Attention to measurable results;
• Ability to be a team player and work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment;
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work evenings and weekends when projects demand it;
• Experience in grassroots fundraising and preparing written field plans;
• Success at running issue-based, union/community organizing and/or political campaigns;
• Experience training and supervising community or labor ;
• Ability to work with a large and diverse cross-section of members and allies;
• Commitment and passion to social justice;
