
Airport Lead Organizer Position

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to performing all the tasks of Organizer I & II, the Lead Organizer must have the ability or potential to;
• Manage multiple projects at one time
• Design and implement staff training
• Participate effectively on a team of organizers, member organizers and researchers to drive worker organizing campaigns/contract campaigns
• Recruit and develop the leadership of workplace leaders and worker committees
• Coordinate the work of other staff
• Work with leaders, staff, and committees to educate, agitate and motivate workers to action
• Assist in evaluating staff performance (under direction of supervisor)
• Maintain accurate and detail information on worksites and track individual worker info, assessments and assignments
• Gather information for legal action to protect worker’s rights, as needed
• Act as a chief negotiator in first contract negotiations
• Contribute to community and political strategy for campaign with appropriate coordinator, director or political coordinator.
REQUIREMENTS
• Commitment to social justice
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to plan effectively and implement work and manage time, as part of a team and individual
• Ability to work long and irregular hours
• Experience with computer programs a plus (including word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet and database software)
• Driver’s license and reliable car
• Fluency in Spanish and English required
