The One and Only Ivan
by Katherine Applegate
I loved this book. It was a little sad because it is based on a real story about a gorilla who lived for 27 in a shopping mall that had a circus in it. But it has a happy ending so it is worth it! The story is told by Ivan, the gorilla, and it's about his experience living in human habitat. Ivan is also an artist and he talks a lot about art and how drawing and painting makes him happy. His best friend is a dog named Bob and Stella, who is a wise elephant. There are so many great moments in this book. You will LOVE Ivan and Ruby the baby elephant who comes to live with them and changes everything!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
by J.K. Rowling
I like that Harry Potter is brave and risks his life. His friends help Harry find out pieces of the mysteries. It's fun that you can guess who is behind the mysteries and see if you were right.
