It's a kid's (Second) life

In 2007, 15-year-old Katharine Berry, frustrated by the fact that the virtual world of Second Life required computer power unavailable to most people, spent a weekend inventing AjaxLife, which allowed users to access many Second Life functions via the Web. "It was definitely, at least partly, a 'learn it as you go along' type thing," she told an interviewer. Quick learner!
