Growing Up in Santa Cruz

A searchable site. This is the on-line version of their free, monthly newspaper. Articles from past issues are available, including these guides: "Childcare and Preschool Listings," "Guide to Independent Schools," "A Guide to Resources for Teens in Santa Cruz County," and a "Summer Activity Guide."

The monthly calendar that is found in their paper is not available on-line.

Santa Cruz City Parks and Recreation

Click on any of the links on the left side of the page for information about activities and events at several different sites (Civic Auditorium, Louden Nelson, etc.).

Santa Cruz County Conference and Visitors Council

A searchable site. The focus is on information about local businesses, but there's lots of good information here.

Click on "Activities" for information about things to do. Click on "Events" for monthly calendars of events, for information about a specific event, or to view "Hot Picks of the Week."

Also has a link to the local weather conditions.

A new, searchable website for parents in Santa Cruz County.
"We list everything that we find relevant to children."

Summer programs, recreational activities (including sports, arts, religious, water and outdoors), dramatic productions by and for children, movie theaters, seasonal entertainment for the whole family, schools (daycare and preschool through college, both public and private), and lots of other resources, including healthcare and safety, books, clothes and toys, food, publications, and information about non-profit agencies.

"We centralize family resources from pregnancy through the teen years giving parents clear information on family activities offered in their community." This site also provides an events calendar to find out about local family activities and events, a section on parent tips, and a resource section that includes information on child care, classes, health care, safety, and much more.

Santa Cruz Wharf

Click on the links on the left side of the home page for information about special events on the wharf, information about the sea life around the wharf, boat rentals, etc.

There are also links to the "Live Surf Cam," tide tables, wave watch, buoy list, and weather conditions.
