RELEASE OF NATIVE-BORN JAPS FROM CAMPS ASKED BY SENATOR

Washington (UP) - Senator Albert B. Chandler, D., Ky., said Friday he will recommend release in the next few months of about 82,000 loyal American-born Japanese from relocation centers in California, Arizona and Arkansas.

Chandler has just returned from an inspection of the centers.

Chairman of a senate military affairs subcommittee investigating army establishments, Chandler said he would present his proposal to members of the full committee.

Release of loyal Japanese, Chandler said, would leave 25,000 persons in the relocation centers who, by their own admission, are not loyal Americans.

By release of the loyal internees, Chandler estimated the government would be saved some $50,000,000 in the cost of operating the centers.

Chandler said those released would swell the nation's military, industrial and agricultural manpower pool.
