Santa Cruz Evening News. Jan. 4, 1929. p. 1
DOLORES HAS COLD; DELAYED
Dolores Del Rio, motion picture star who was expected in Santa Cruz today to start work filming exteriors of "Evangeline" with members of the United Artists company already here, has been detained in Carmel with a bad cold. She will probably be here tonight or the first thing in the morning and will register at the St. George Hotel.
