Old Soldiers: Santa Cruz County Civil War Veterans
by Robert L. Nelson
CARR, JOHN P (1839-1899)
Watsonville Pajaronian (May 25, 1899)

Pioneer Cemetery, Watsonville
John P. Carr died Tuesday morning at his home near Pajaro, and his funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock. He moved across the river about two weeks ago, and soon after was stricken with pneumonia. The progress of the disease was rapid, and all efforts to stop it were futile. Mr. Carr was an old resident of this section, and was highly thought of by his many friends. He was a native of New Hampshire, in his 60th years and leaves a wife, two sons and two daughters.
