DIED: At Watsonville Jan 18, 1875 Edwin Stanton Shearer aged 34 years.
Mr. Shearer was born in Virginia, came to California in 1849. Resided here some years ago, but for the past six years has been in the employ of The C.P.R.R. Co. as an operator. Came here about two weeks ago, sick hoping a change of climate might prove beneficial. During his sickness he received every attention from the Masonic fraternity, and his remains were accompanied to their last resting place, by his friends and members of Pajaro Lodge F & A.M. He leaves a wife and four children.
