PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes citations and abstracts from MEDLINE, the world's largest database of clinical medical literature. The database indexes more than 4,800 biomedical journals published in the United States and 70 other countries. Citations date back to the 1950s. Some citations link out to relevant information outside of Medline, or to the full text of articles. Tutorials are available and highly recommended for inexperienced users.
