Future of the Library Catalog What We're Working On
| SCPL Specific Issues | |
|---|---|
| Issue | Status |
| Hold issues: some patrons' holds have not been captured; some items say they are on hold for a patron when they are not | These need to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis and are being worked through |
| Notices are not being sent out | Print notices should be going out in the mail; hold expiration email notices are still being tested, but all other email notices are being sent out now. |
| Items on order are not being displayed in the catalog and it is not possible to place holds on on-order items | Acquisitions is working on this and some items are now showing up in the catalog; this may be a problem with the acquisitions program and/or with the vendor |
| There are no lists that show new items added to the catalog | New item bookbags are now available
(see the Catalog Resources page under New Items) |
| There are authentication problems with the SIP server, which is making self-check, Overdrive downloads, and the subscription databases intermittently unavailable | This issue has been resolved |
| Evergreen Software Issues | |
| Issue | Status |
| Holds | |
| Hold links appear for all items, even those not eligible for holds | |
| There is no public view of the Holds queue | This feature is now available in "My Account" |
| The expire shelf date is not visible to patrons | |
| Patrons cannot be alerted before items expire from the holds shelf; they are only notified before the actual hold expiration date (currently set at 365 days) | |
| Renewals | |
| There is no way to tell if an item is renewable before trying to renew it | |
| Fines | |
| Fines are assessed if items are not returned or renewed by 11:59 pm on the due date; fines should not begin until the day after the due date | |
| Search | |
| Searches that include certain diacritics do not work | This has been logged with the vendor. |
