This workshop is designed to provide participants with ideas, feedback, and assistance with their poetry. Dr. David Swanger, SC County's Poet Laureate, will discuss poetics (the theory of poetry) as it relates to the participant's work. Each person attending is asked to bring either a poem they have written or one by another author that they would like to share and explore. Enrollment is limited to 10. The class is now full! Like an unexpected spring flower, a journaling class has appeared at the Downtown branch. Andrew Drinnan, a library volunteer, teaches a journaling class every Tuesday, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the Downtown branch. "Keeping a journal can be a self-empowering and motivating expressive outlet. Journaling can be a tool for self-awareness. This class/group will share the power of keeping a journal with advice, tips, and motivations to get the most out of yours," says volunteer teacher Andrew Drinnan.
