Location: Branciforte Branch
Branciforte Library Book Club meets every third Wednesday of the month from 1:00 - 2:00pm. Book selections are from the Library's Book Club kits. This month, we'll be reading Cutting For Stone by Abraham Verghese. Join us for a lively discussion!

Downtown Book Discussion Group (1:00 PM-2:00 PM)
Location: Downtown Branch
The Downtown Library Book Discussion Group will read The Life of Pi by Yann Martel for its January 17 selection. The group meets every third Thursday at 1pm. All over 18 years old are welcome. Ask at the reference desk for the location of the meeting room. Copies of the book are available on request at the Circulation Desk. No need to check it out, just return it at the discussion. Reading in the Redwoods (6:00 PM-7:30 PM)
Location: Felton Branch
Reading in the Redwoods book group meets monthly at the Felton Library on the fourth Wednesday, reading contemporary books chosen by the members. Copies of each month's book are available at the Felton branch library. For more information call 427-7708 or drop by the branch. The branch is closed after 6 pm but the front door will be open. David Swanger Poetry Reading (10:30 AM-11:30 AM)
Location: La Selva Beach Branch
The LaSelva Beach Branch Library Friends will host a free poetry reading by Santa Cruz County Poet Laureate, David Swanger on Thursday, January 24 from 10:30-Noon. Dr. Swanger is a retired UCSC Professor of Education and Creative Writing. He will be reading his poetry, talking about his creative process, and answering questions. All are welcome. This event is sponsored by the LSB Friends and the Passionate Readers Book Discussion Group.
