Downtown Santa Cruz Holiday Parade (10:00 AM-12:00 PM)
Location: Pacific Avenue, in Downtown Santa Cruz
Be a part of the excitement as the Santa Cruz Public Library Precision Book Cart Drill Teams performs a variety of entertaining drills at the Downtown Santa Cruz Holiday Parade. Santa will be joining the fun down Pacific Ave. along with floats, marching bands, fire trucks, horses, and classic cars.

Join the Friends of the Santa Cruz Public Libraries in the upstairs Meeting Room at the Downtown Branch for their annual Holiday Book Sale on Saturday December 1st from 11am to 3pm. All books will be gift quality and in the best condition. Proceeds from the Holiday Sale go towards the Santa Cruz Public Libraries. Free gift wrapping!

The Advisory Council of Teens assists the Teen Services Librarian in providing library service to all Santa Cruz County young adults. Participating teens are from all over the county. For more information about the ACT or other volunteer opportunities call Sandi at 831-427-7700 ext 7665. The ACT meets in the 2nd floor meeting room at the Downtown Branch Library. Meetings are normally the 2nd Sunday of the month from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.

Willing Suspension Armchair Theater (7:00 PM-8:00 PM)
Location: Aptos Branch
Willing Suspension Armchair Theater presents "The View From 16 - The Complex Simplicities of Teenhood." It seems that being a teen is always challenging, but never more so than today. Enormous technological developments have wrought significant changes to the world, but especially to the teen world. Join us for an hour of retrospection, introspection, and plain blunt force as we set out to unveil and contrast some of the intensity that exists in the lives of teenagers today.
Original prose and poetry plus selections from published literature will be presented by students from Aptos, Watsonville and Los Gatos High Schools. This presentation being directed by Steven Spike Wong. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
