    In honor of the Centennial of the Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom (WILPF), WILPF Santa Cruz has partnered with the Santa Cruz Public Libraries’ “Art in the Library” series to present an exhibition of “Women, Peace & Power – 100 Years”. In this exploration of the roles of women in changing our attitudes through art and activism you will encounter two floors of inspirational art and information, including the work of Carolina McCall, Sara Friedlander, Myra Eastman, Diane Levin, Sarah Jane Morabito, Mary Vidnovic, Charles Berger, Tatyana Fazlalizadeh and the Guerrilla Girls. This First Friday, meet the artists and learn about 100 years of social change & “the most dangerous woman in America”, WILPF founder Jane Addams, -- and how WILPF continues her legacy today. The installation runs from April 12 to July 12, 2015.

Join us for a Resource Fair with information tables; learn about local groups intersecting with the issue of mass incarceration. Engage in a Round Table discussion with service providers, corrections professionals and law enforcement for cross talk and Q&A. Finally, brainstorm and create action steps for moving forward on this complex issue.

    For our Spring 2015 tour of Shakespeare To Go, we are offering the lively comedy As You Like It! Shakespeare To Go, now in our 28th season, brings all of the delight and drama of Shakespeare’s plays adapted to a 50-minute rendition. After the performance there will be a 10-minute Q&A session where the actors and public can interact. The actors and stage manager are UCSC students. The adaptation is produced with minimal sets and costumes for easy set-up as we tour the play to various venues across Santa Cruz County, South Bay area and Santa Clara County.

You can expect to: record & share stories; enrich time spent together; boost interest and involvement; use reminiscence to engage and connect.
