Road Conditions in the Western U.S.

The Caltrans website gives road and highway conditions around the state plus links to state departments of transportation across the country. Also, a toll-free voice-activated phone service (1.800.427.7623) is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Here you can get up-to-the-minute road conditions plus other helpful information such as: weather restrictions; highway closures; 1-way traffic controls; lane closures; construction and maintenance project advisories and emergencies. This service does NOT include normal commute traffic, ramp closures and traffic flow conditions.

For traffic conditions in the San Francisco Bay Area (including parts of Santa Cruz County), call (408) 817-1717, ask for traffic, then say the highway number. Includes Highways 17 and 1, but not 9.
