Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)

The agency that oversees California's HMO's is the Department of Managed Health Care. It regulates and licenses Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) in an effort to promote quality health care for the people of California. The Department maintains an HMO Help Center which aids Californians in resolving problems with their HMOs, after they have already used their HMO's own complaint procedures.
