Focus: Summer Activities for Kids

Summer is almost here and there are lots of activities for kids all over Santa Cruz County!

One example is the garden-centered educational program at Life Lab Science Summer Day Camps, where the farm, garden, and surrounding natural area is their laboratory. Programming includes these two camps:

Wildlands and Watering Cans, for ages 7-10, where children engage in farm chores like caring for hens, preparing and tasting food from the garden, and singing songs and storytelling.

Farm and Wilderness Exploration, for 11-14 year olds, includes taking water samples from local ponds, examining invertebrates under a microscope, investigating animal signs and learning tracking techniques, harvesting, cooking, and preserving produce from the farm, and creating garden art and digital photography projects.
