The BOOKMOBILE -- the branch on wheels

The Bookmobile carries materials for children, young adults, and adults. The collection includes books, magazines and audiotapes in both English and Spanish. Computer access to the library system's catalog is available. Requests for specific items or subjects can be made at any stop, by calling Telephone Reference at 420-5730, or by using the Library's Web catalog and designating Bookmobile as your pickup branch. The Bookmobile visits each site every two weeks.

Contact the Outreach Office at (831) 420-5650 if you wish to suggest a new site for Bookmobile. Bookmobile sites must be at least one mile from a library branch and maintain an average circulation of thirty (30) items per visit. Visits range from 45 minutes to three hours, depending on the location. All sites must be accessible to the public and must be able to accommodate a vehicle the size of a semi-truck, approximately 32 feet in length. Sites must be well lit at night and have nearby restrooms for staff use.
