Branciforte Branch is a very popular branch located on the east side of Santa Cruz, near Seabright Avenue. The 7,500 square foot branch opened in October of 1967. It has a collection of more than 55,000 items, including books, videos, and books on tape. The system-wide online public access catalog lists titles available at any of the branches and items may be sent from other branches to Branciforte for pick-up. A database of magazine articles, many of them including the full text of the article, may be searched online. Branciforte also subscribes to approximately 118 periodicals. Separate Internet access terminals are available for both children and adults. A Spanish language Internet terminal is available to those users whose primary language is Spanish. The branch includes a separate room for children's materials and sponsors a variety of children's programs.
